Datça

Datça is approximately 45km from the house and enjoys its own climate of low humidity and cooling sea breeze. The town is small but amply equipped with places to eat, including a few delicious pastry shops. The lively yacht harbour is a great place for a breezy stroll, with a good choice of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. A short drive away is the ancient city of Knidos, once home to a famous medical school and a statue of Aphrodite. The site is being excavated, but you can still explore remains of the Hellenistic theatre and two Byzantine basilicas, which are among the best preserved in Turkey.
